Apple May Build A Search Engine To Protect iPhone Data From Google

Lately we discussed Why Apple Needs To Have Its Own Search Engine. The topic is getting hot as Apple may build a search engine according to EWeek. Google is currently the default search engine on the iPhone, with tens of millions of users and Google has increasingly encroached on Apple’s mobile turf, offering the Android operating system and several mobile applications, says Eweek.
The biggest reason for Apple to build up a search engine is the number of users but Google’s competition is of equal importance. EWeek further says that Apple is in an inside position to tap into the current pent up demand for better mobile search, and add a new competitive differentiation from other search providers and device makers.
