The Secret Of $0.99 – $1.99 iPhone Apps Pricing Model

This is purely developers’ interest’s topic, but only those who know the fact that pricing has a direct and big impact on number of downloads. If you’re an iPhone developer and want your app to be in top lists, you must have a pricing policy: That doesn’t mean to price it too low or too high, but pricing it rightly!
Almost half of the apps in the Top 100 list on App Store cost $0.99; what does this mean? This means that price does matter! Well, $0.99 is the price at which users make an impulsive purchase. An application within this price range looks appealing.
When Should You Price Your App Within This Range?
Your own application may look great to you, but think from users’ perspective. Before submitting app, get it tested by end users. If your app is mildly entertaining, solves a basic problem, easy created but is of high quality, price it within this range!
